Grand Salmon Source to Sea film premiere, Salmon Source to Sea Film Premiere, Rivers For ChangeRFC Board members Samara and Danielle joined the Salmon Source to Sea Team in Missoula, Montana for the premiere of The Grand Salmon film on Friday, August 30th!

It was wonderful to reunite with Brooke, Libby, and Hailey as well as Tess McEnroe from Idaho Rivers United who hosted the event, Julian Matthews from Nimiipuu Protecting the Environment and the iconic fisheries biologist Russ Thurow.

This project continues to be a reminder of just how influential source to sea adventures can be as a catalyst for conservation and education.

We had fun chatting to crowds about the 27 source to sea’s we’ve been involved with over the years, and sharing some behind the scenes stories of the Salmon Source to Sea!

From assisting with the coordination of the 17 events, collaborating with 16 different non-profits, 34 brands, hundreds of volunteers, managing the team, shuttles, logistics, and gear along the way, it remains one of the largest source to sea’s we’ve ever undertaken! We won’t tell you how many tabs our Master Spreadsheet held ;) But if you look closely in this behind the scenes photo montage you might just get an idea.

The film is currently being screened by local groups around the country while it is submitted to film festivals. Stay tuned for future distribution but in the meantime you can keep checking for a screening near you!

If you are interested in hosting a screening as a fundraiser for RFC get in touch!

Declining Salmon populations, the challenge that the 4 lower Snake river dams pose to these endangered species, and the impending threat of the Stibnite open pit gold mine continue to be ongoing challenges for this watershed. We encourage you to stay up to date through the Idaho Rivers United website, Save the South Fork, and the Salmon Source to Sea take action page.

We are so proud to have been behind the scenes every step of the way throughout the year of planning and the 3 month journey itself! And we are so grateful to all the partners, collaborators, volunteers, organizations, and companies that supported the success of this journey! Thank you!
