59th Annual Salmon Festival – Klamath River
August 19
All are invited to attend the Yurok Tribe’s 59th Annual Klamath Salmon Festival on Saturday, August 19. The family-oriented event includes: cultural demonstrations, Stick Game Tournament, Softball Tournament, live music, delicious food, a basket-weaving demonstration, a parade, activities for kids, a petting zoo, 100 vendors selling high quality gift items and more. We have a very special band headlining this year’s festival. Object Heavy offers a unique fusion of vintage style hard-hitting soul with modern funk, gospel and neo-soul influences.
This year’s festival is a celebration of the ongoing removal of four dams on the Klamath. The dismantling of the dams will open of approximately 400 miles of historic fish habitat and is considered the largest salmon restoration project in the history of the world. The event takes place on Klamath Boulevard in Klamath on the Yurok Reservation.
