Watershed Moments
Building Connections from Source to Sea.
Watershed Moments is a solo paddling expedition and social-engagement art project by Claire Dibble. Her trip will cover all 2000 kilometers (1243 miles) of the Columbia River between the source near her home in Golden, British Columbia to the sea beyond Astoria, Oregon.
The intention is to build a portrait of the river and the people who live along it, creating a sense of connection upstream and downstream in the process.
You have to visit her website because it is a highly unique trip and Claire is a gifted photographer. Read more about her undertaking and about the kayak she’s using, a homemade skin on frame constructed of wood sourced from the watershed. It’s cool.
